The Magic Kingdom: From Dreams to Reality at Reunion Resort
When we first heard the words, “build us a castle,” our minds naturally drifted to the enchanting princess-themed bedrooms we’ve crafted for Disney lovers. But this project was destined to be something extraordinary—a journey that would blur the lines between imagination and reality.
This was not just about creating a room; it was about bringing the Magic Kingdom into a family’s home, where every detail would echo the grandeur and wonder of the iconic castle. We began with meticulous research, studying every spire and turret of the real Magic Kingdom castle. Scaling it to perfection was no small feat; it had to be grand enough for adults to walk through the entrance yet delicate enough to let the towers soar, just as they do in the park.
The collaboration with our clients was nothing short of magical. Together with our engineering team, they scrutinized every detail through countless video calls, ensuring each milestone brought them closer to their dream. Their vision was clear—they wanted their daughter to feel like a true princess in her own private castle at their second home. The requirements were precise: four beds, at least two full-sized, each with its own TV, a wardrobe, a slide… And the colors—oh, the colors! The castle had to be painted in the original, timeless hues, with the roof in that unmistakable shade of blue, not the anniversary celebration variants.
Many sketches, models, and revisions later, the castle stood in all its glory. But the magic didn’t end there. The pièce de résistance? A real carousel, spinning with joy and bringing the entire space to life. This wasn’t just a room; it was a dream brought to life—a magical kingdom where a little girl’s fantasies became her reality.
